Abel Named Director of Baseball Operations

Joins Rice from FAU
HOUSTON — Bixby Family Head Baseball Coach Jose Cruz, Jr., has announced the addition of Ryan Abel as Director of Operations.
Abel comes to South Main after spending the last two years at Florida Atlantic.
"We are thrilled to welcome Ryan Abel to our staff," Cruz stated. "His enthusiasm and innovative ideas are a much-needed addition to our organization. I am confident that our team's operations are in excellent hands with Ryan."

"In addition to the experience, expertise, and collaboration of the coaching staff, Coach Cruz revealed a vision of success for the program and players that I cannot wait to contribute to."
Abel joined the Florida Atlantic baseball program after graduating in May of 2022 from Stonehill College in Massachusetts, majoring in psychology. While at Stonehill, he spent two years as a member of the baseball program and three years coaching in the Cape Cod Baseball League.
While a member of the Brewster Whitecaps, he assisted the coaching staff in on and off-field operations, advanced scouting reports, pregame player development, and a CCBL championship in 2021.
