Owls Name Five Captains for 2024

Pearcy selected for the third consecutive season
Rice football will be represented this season by five captains who were selected by their teammates in a vote taken at the conclusion of training camp.
Dean Connors was selected as the offensive captain, Izeya Floyd and Josh Pearcy as defensive captains and Chike Anigbogu and Geron Hargon as special teams captains.
This marks the third consecutive year Pearcy has been selected. He is the first three-time team captain at Rice since Chase Clement, Jarett Dillard, and Brian Raines served as captains of the football team from 2006-08. Floyd and Anigbogu were selected for the second consecutive year.
The five players have played a total of 181 games for the Owls, including 63 starts.
The five captains will lead Rice into action for the first time on August 31 when Rice hosts Sam Houston at 6 p.m.
Single-game tickets for all six of Rice's 2024 home football games are now on sale starting at $22 online at TicketMaster or by calling (713) 348-OWLS (6957). Owls' fans also have the option to secure their same seats for all six games by purchasing season tickets or they can create their own customized two or three-game mini plans.
