Owls Fall to Aggies on Tuesday

The Details: The second-ranked Aggies jumped out on top with a pair of solo homers in the first and added three in the second on a pair of wild pitches and an error. Manny Garza got the Owls on the board in the top of the third with a solo homer to right but the Aggies responded with four in the bottom of the fourth. The Owls loaded the bases on the fifth on singles by Nathan Becker, Kyte McDonald, and Garza, but the threat ended on a double play. After the Aggies added two in the bottom of the fourth, Rice added as second run on a sac fly by Jack Riedel. Texas A&M pushed the margin to 16-2 in the bottom of the sixth and Tobias Motely closed the scoring with a solo homer in the top of the seventh.
Up Next: The Owls return home to Reckling Park tomorrow to open the final five-game homestand Lamar at 6:30 on Wednesday. The homestand continues over the weekend as Rice hosts Florida Atlantic in a three-game series and concludes with the Owls's first-ever regular Grand Slam School Day against Texas Southern at 11:30 a.m.

- The Owls fell 19-29 on the season 2-3 during the five-game stretch of road games and 2-5 at Blue Bell Park
- Garza's solo homer in the third was his second in the last four games on the current road schedule and his third in the last seven.
