Gallo Named to AAC Honor Roll

Owls wrap up home season on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m.
Senior second baseman Pierce Gallo has been named to the AAC Baseball Honor Roll after sparking Rice to a key series win over Florida Atlantic at Reckling Park over the weekend.
Gallo hit .500 (6x12) with a pair of homers and six RBI leading the Owls to their first series win over FAU since 2015. His two homers in the series matched his previous season high and gave him a career-best four this year. He has also driven in 18 runs over the last 20 games after having only seven in the first 26 games.
Gallo and the Owls will close out the 2024 home schedule on Tuesday morning when they host Texas Southern in a special Grand Slam Day event for local schools. They will open a crucial final AAC series on Thursday in Greenville, North Carolina against East Carolina. Rice (11-13 in the AAC) is looking to earn a berth in the AAC Championship, which begins on May 21 at BayCare Ballpark in Clearwater, Florida.
