Blue Gray Weekend Set for April 12-14th

Join the Rice Family for a weekend full of events and cheer on the Owls!
Rice University will host the annual Blue Gray Weekend from April 12-14th, which will feature several Rice Athletics events including a baseball series, men's and women's tennis matches, and the annual football spring game. Fans of all ages from around the neighborhood and Houston will be able to experience all the fun.
Rice Baseball will kick off the weekend by hosting UAB for a three-game series starting on Friday at 6:30 PM at Reckling Park. On Friday, fans can enjoy a variety of activities, including food truck delights, baseball bingo, and the chance to grab a mini helmet bowl as the game day giveaway.
On Saturday, the first pitch will be at 2:00 PM, followed by another game on Sunday at 1:00 PM that will feature Bark in the Park, welcoming furry friends, and a post game opportunity for kids to run the bases. Tickets to the weekend series against the Blazers are available online.
On Saturday, fans should make plans to arrive early to celebrate the Rice Women's Basketball team as they will be recognized and celebrated for their championship achievements this past season as American Athletic Conference Tournament Champions and appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Additionally, Saturday's baseball game will hand out pom poms for fans to show their Rice spirit.
Saturday's tennis matches will feature Men's Tennis hosting Creighton at 11:00 AM and Women's Tennis facing Prairie View A&M at 2:00 PM, both at the George R. Brown Tennis Center. These matches will celebrate and honor the senior players for their dedication and contributions to Rice Athletics. Additionally, there will be a craft brew fest sampling for all fans to enjoy.
The highlight of Saturday's events will be the Football Blue-Gray Spring Game at 5:00 PM at Rice Stadium. Admission to the Blue-Gray game is free, and fans who redeem their tickets in advance will have a chance to win a custom Rice Football jersey.
Owl Bash, an event featuring exciting in-game activities, will also take place on the west stadium main concourse. Gates will open at 4:00 PM, and fans can enjoy entertainment with a live DJ spinning tracks over the stadium loudspeakers throughout the game, an interactive kid's zone near gate 1, fan photos roaming the stadium, and brews and bites samples from Rice vendors (to be announced the week of the game). Additional food trucks will also be available for purchase, while free pizza will be provided to all Rice students in attendance as supplies last.
The official team shop kiosk will also be open offering the latest apparel items. Concurrently, exclusive team gear such as sideline shirts, shoes, sweat tops/pants, polo's, and warm-ups will be available at the Rice Football spring surplus sale featuring discounts. All items will be set up on the west concourse vendor stands, and sales will start at 5:00 PM.
