Rice and Toledo to Meet in 2029 & 2031

Second upcoming series with a MAC opponent
Rice and Toledo announced on Wednesday the schools will meet for the first time in football as part of a home-and-home series.
The series opens with the Owls traveling to Ohio to take on the Rockets on September 8, 2029, and then Toledo returns the favor by coming to Houston on September 13, 2031.
Toledo will be the second team from the Mid-American Conference to face the Owls. Rice and Western Michigan met in the 2008 Texas Bowl, with the Owls winning 38-21, and the schools announced in September a two-game series that begins in Houston on September 19, 2026, with a return game in Kalamazoo on September 25, 2027.
