Owls' first visit to New Orleans since 2012
Rice and Tulane will kick off their first meeting in New Orleans for the first time since 2012 at 2:30 p.m. (central) on Saturday, October 19 with coverage on ESPN+. The AAC and ESPN jointly announced the time of the game and broadcast partner assignment on Monday.
This will be the 18th meeting between the schools in New Orleans, but the first at Tulane's Yulman Stadium, which opened in 2014.
Rice leads the overall series between the schools, 20-16-1 and improved to 7-9-1 in New Orleans with a wild 49-47 win in the most recent visit as Phillip Gaines broke up two-point conversation attempt with 56 seconds remaining. The Green Wave edged the Owls 30-28 last season during Rice's inaugural season in the AAC.
Rice returns to action this Saturday after a bye week, hosting UTSA at Rice Stadium at 6 p.m.
