De la Bassetiere, Kapasi Secure Semis Spot in ITA Texas Men's Regional Championship

WACO, Texas - The tandem of Arthus de la Bassetiere and Kabeer Kapasi will compete for a spot in the doubles finals at the ITA Men's Texas Regional Championship hosted by Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
De la Bassetiere and Kapasi defeated a tandem from Texas by a final score of 8-5 to secure their spot in the semis. They will take on the tandem of Koenig/Abdul Hazli from Baylor for a spot in the finals.
In the doubles consolation bracket, Eduardo Morais and Yair Sarouk saw their time in Waco come to an end by falling to Cuellar and Miralles from Incarnate Word via withdrawl.
In the singles consolation bracket, Rice accumulated four wins, including a withdrawal win by Czaplinski against de la Bassetiere. Tommy Czaplinski earned a victory over Calvelo from SMU via withdrawal and de la Bassetiere earned a victory over Apltauer from TCU, winning the first set 6-4 and leading the second set 3-0 before Apltauer retired. Petro Kuzmenok took a victory over Ross from Texas A&M via withdrawal.
Brostrom Poulsen from Baylor took down two Owls in the semifinals and finals to win the singles consolation bracket, defeating Kuzmenok 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) in the semis and Czaplinski 6-2, 6-0 in the finals.
Action will conclude on Monday in Waco.
