
Rice Extends Unbeaten Streak to Five After Draw at Florida Atlantic

BOCA RATON – The Rice soccer team settled for a draw on a windy Thursday night at Florida Atlantic, extending the team's unbeaten streak to five matches, going 4-0-1 in that span. Rice moves to 11-2-2 (5-1-1 AAC) on the season, while Florida Atlantic is now 2-8-4 (1-3-2 AAC).
How It Happened
The visiting Owls made strides early, with Taylor Rish getting a great look at the goal, but the Florida Atlantic keeper was there to make the save. Lilly Reuscher had the next chance for Rice in the following minutes, but once again, the home Owls made the stop. Catarina Albuquerque had the last look of the half, but couldn't get past the goalie as the two sides went into the half scoreless.
After rattling off several shots, Allie Love had a chance in the 55th minute, but her shot rattled off the post to keep the match scoreless. Natalie Gorji later continued the pressure with a header to the far corner, but the Florida Atlantic keeper made a diving save to keep Rice off the board. The two defenses made the stops the rest of the way for the scoreless draw.
