Men’s Basketball Begins Inaugural AAC Season at Tulane

HOUSTON — Rice will play its inaugural American Athletic Conference game this Wednesday, Jan. 3, when it travels to New Orleans, La., to face Tulane. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT and the game will be nationally-televised by ESPNU.

Scouting Rice
• Rice enters American Athletic Conference play with a 6-7 record. The Owls have won three of its last four games despite falling to Louisiana in its non-conference finale on Dec. 22.
• The Owls are led by fifth-year senior guard Travis Evee, who is scoring 16.5 points per game, good for sixth in the American Athletic Conference. He's adding 3.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.4 steals while placing sixth in the league in free throw percentage, connecting on 84.8% from the charity stripe.
• Sophomore guard Mekhi Mason is second on the team with 12.5 points and 2.4 assists and third with 4.2 rebounds.
• Fifth-year senior forward Max Fiedler is averaging 10.1 points while leading the team with 8.7 rebounds and 4.9 assists, which are second and fourth in the AAC, respectively.
