Owls Fall at Home to Texas A&M

HOUSTON – Texas A&M took the lead early and didn't look back as the Aggies defeated Rice 4-0 at Holloway Field Sunday night. The loss drops Rice's record to 2-5-1 on the season.
 
How It Happened
The Aggies didn't take long to find the offense, with MaKhiya McDonald opening the game with a goal just two minutes in. Ellen Halseth had a chance to tie the game at the 29:10 mark, but her shot fell right into the arms of the Aggies keeper. Texas A&M doubled its lead just past the 43-minute mark to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.
 
The Aggies found the back of the net to open the second half, with McDonald connecting for her second goal with 30 minutes left to play. The Aggies grabbed their fourth goal in the 68th minute. Sophie Zhang had an open look to get Rice on the board with four minutes left, but her shot was just tipped out of the goal by the Aggies keeper. Lauren Pickup had the last chance for the Owls, but her shot was also saved by the goalie,
