Gallo and Raj Named to Academic All-District® Team

Candiates for Academic All-American
Pierce Gallo and Krishna Raj have been named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Baseball Team.
Gallo leads the Owls with 53 hits this season and is third with a .283 average while starting 47 games at second base and has a 3.658 GPA while majoring in Business Finance. Raj leads the Owls with four saves and has struck out a career-high 47. He received his Master of Energy Economics degree during Rice's 110th Commencement earlier this month, completing his work with a 3.75 GPA.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 7. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
Voting for the Academic All-America baseball teams begins today at noon ET and closes Tuesday, May 23, at 11:59 pm ET. All CSC members are eligible to vote on the ballots in their division. To vote, go to www.collegesportscommunicators.com/awards.
