Series Opener Suspended

Owls lead 5-3 when play resumes at 2 p.m. on Saturday
The opening game of the weekend series between Rice and #19 Dallas Baptist was suspended in the bottom of the eighth inning on Friday night to severe weather in the Houston area.
The game will be resumed at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Reckling Park. Saturday's regularly-scheduled game between the Owls and Patriots will not begin until at least 45 minutes after the completion of the first game.
Tickets from Friday's game will be honored for both the completion of that game as well as for Saturday's game.
After Rice saw its early 2-0 lead wiped out by a two-run sixth by the Patriots, the Owls answered with a run of their own on the bottom of the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Guy Garibay Jr. They jumped back in front on a single by Drew Holderbach that scored Connor Walsh and extended the lead to 5-3 when Garibay led off the bottom of the eighth with a solo homer before the game was suspended.
