Women’s T&F Set For Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational

HOUSTON – The Rice Owls women's track & field team readies for an action-packed weekend, with the team split between the Texas Relay's and the Bobcat Invitational.
The Owls enter the weekend following a strong showing at the 40th annual Victor Lopez Classic, with the Owls winning three events. Caitlin Wosika (5000m), Tara Simpson-Sullivan (Hammer Throw) and Mckyla Van der Westhuizen (Javelin) all took their respective event titles.
Van der Westhuizen's mark of 56.68m (185-11) earned her C-USA Field Athlete of the Week honors while placing her second in the NCAA.
Rice's schedule for the Texas Relays will be updated each morning of the competition.
