Owls with Strong Showing at Texas Relays, Bobcat Invitational

HOUSTON – The Rice women's track and field team had several strong performances from both the Texas Relays and the Bobcat Invitational this week.
Rice's highlight finish came from the 10,000 Thursday night as Caitlin Wosika and Lina Spjut provided a 1-2 punch in the event. Tara Simpson-Sullivan opened the meet with a seventh-place finish in the hammer throw on Thursday, while Erna Gunnarsdottir had the final result for the Owls with a fifth-place result in the shot-put Saturday afternoon.
In total, the Owls landed nine top-10 finishes across the two meets.
