Daniels and McCaffrey Pick up Midseason Honors

Dave Campbell’s Texas Football’s Midseason All-Texas College Team
JT Daniels and Luke McCaffrey have been named to Dave Campbell's Texas Football's Midseason All-Texas College Team which was released on Wednesday.
Daniels leads the AAC in passing yards (1,831) and yards per game (305.2), passing TDs (15), and passing efficiency (157.4), and ranks second in yards per completion (13.98), yards per attempt (8.89) and points responsible for (90). He ranks seventh nationally in yards, eighth in TDs, and 11th in yards per game. His 1,831 yards are the most by any Rice quarterback in the first six games of a season while his 15 second to Chase Clement's 16 in 2008. Both totals are career-highs for Daniels as well.
McCaffrey, who was a preseason All-Texas College second-team selection by the magazine, leads the conference in receiving yards (514) and receiving TDs (6) and is second with 85.7 yards receiving per game. His six receiving TDs rank 10th nationally and match his career-high set last year in his first season at wide receiver.
Rice returns to action in one week when the Owls with a Thursday night road game at Tulsa. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. with coverage on ESPN 2. They return to Rice Stadium on October 28 when the host Tulane. Kickoff time for the return of the Green Wave to Rice Stadium will be announced by the AAC on Monday.
