Owls face Air Foce and Denver
In Brief: The Rice men's tennis team returns to the road for the second consecutive weekend, traveling to Colorado for matches against Air Force and Denver.

The Owls: Rice is 1-2 after their season-opening trip to Florida, winning over USF and falling to FAU and UCSB, with each match extended deep into its fourth hour. The Owls are 1-0 when losing the doubles point and 0-2 when winning the point. Sophomore Emir Sendogan won all three of his singles matches last weekend while the doubles team of Kabeer Kapasi and Yasha Zemel also opened the season 3-0.
The Opposition: Air Force opens its 2023 dual season with the Owls. The Falcons were 15-9 last season and this will be the first meeting between the schools in men's tennis. Denver opens its season last weekend by dropping a 7-0 decision at SMU. The Pioneers open their home schedule on Friday by hosting UC Davis on Friday. Rice leads the all-time series with Denver, 2-1 but the Pioneers won the most recent meeting, a marathon 4-3 win at the George R. Brown Tennis Center last January.
Road Tests Early: Rice opens with five consecutive matches on the road before opening the home schedule a week from Friday by hosting Elon at 1 pm.
