Autographs and scrimmage highlight annual event
Rice baseball fans will have their first chance to interact with the 2023 Owls when Fan Fest returns to Reckling Park on Sunday, January 29.
Gates will open to the general public at 11 a.m. for an autograph session with the team prior to the start of batting practice at noon, followed by a scrimmage. Parking will be available for fans in West Lot 6.
In addition to the meet and greet with the team, fans can enjoy an inflatable ball toss, photo opportunities with the team, and tour Reckling Park facilities while they get a first look at the 2023 teams. Official team apparel will be on sale at the team shop while food and beverage from Rudy's BBQ, Karbach Brewing, Yuengling, Howdy's Homemade Ice Cream, MyFitFoods, and other vendors will be available.
There is no admission charge for FanFest, but all fans are encouraged to RSVP in advance RSVP at RiceOwls.co/FanFestRSVP.
Prior to the start of FanFest. season ticket members have the opportunity to attend an exclusive event. Head coach Jose Cruz Jr. and his staff will host a Q&A and preview the 2023 season at 10:15 on top of the home dugout. Season ticket members will have the opportunity to take batting practice on the field and have their pitching form evaluated in the state-of-the-art Pigpen Pitching Lab. Further details will be shared directly with season ticket members by e-mail. Fans can instantly qualify to attend this exclusive event by purchasing 2023 season tickets prior to Fan Fest.

The Owls open full-squad practices on January 27 in advance of opening the season at home against Louisiana on February 17, the first of 30 games scheduled for Reckling Park this season.
The opening series with the Ragin Cajuns is the first of three against 2022 NCAA Regional qualifiers (Louisiana Tech, March 6-8; Dallas Baptist, April 28-30) in addition to a single game against 2022 College World Series participant Texas A&M on March 8.
The Owls' 24-game road schedule opens on February 24 with the first of three games against Stanford, which also reached the College World Series in 2022.
