Enechukwu Named to Outland Trophy Watch List

HOUSTON — A day after being named to the Conference USA Preseason Watch List, defensive end Ikenna Enechukwu is one of 89 interior linemen to be named to the Outland Trophy Watch List.
It is his fourth preseason honor, as he has also been named to the East-West Shrine game's preseason list and Phil Steele's All-Conference preseason first team.
Enechukwu was credited with career highs in tackles (48), TFL (8), and sacks (4.5) last season while starting all 12 games (nine at tackle and three at the end). He was the team leader with 20 quarterback hurries according to PFF and second with 32 total pressures and eight quarterback hits.
The recipient of the 2022 Outland Trophy will be announced on The Home Depot College Football Awards, live on ESPN on Thurs., Dec. 8. The official presentation to the winner will be made at the Outland Trophy Awards Dinner sponsored by Werner Enterprises and produced by the Greater Omaha Sports Committee in Omaha, Neb., on Jan. 11, 2023.
