Final tuneup before C-USA Championships
HOUSTON - The Rice Owls women's track and field team heads across town on Friday (May 6) to participate in the Tom Tellez Invitational at at the Carl Lewis International Complex, the team's final meet before next week's Conference USA Championships. Other teams scheduled to compete on Friday include Houston, Sam Houston, Stephen F. Austin, Texas A&M and Tulane.

The Owls, who will have 21 total athletes competing, are currently ranked No. 11 in the USTFCCCA South Central Region and hold three of the top marks in Conference USA this season; Grace Forbes (10,000m-32:59.15), Erna Gunnarsdottir (Shot Put-17.29m) and Tara Simpson-Sullivan (Hammer Throw-66.95m).
