Seniors Close With a Win

Owls open C-USA Championship on Friday
In Brief: Rice sent its four departing seniors out with a win as the Owls downed Concordia (TX) 6-1 on Monday at the George R. Brown Tennis Center.
Doubles: The Owls raced to quick wins at the second and third lines to secure the point, setting the stage for Sumit Sarkar and AJ Valenty to win their final doubles match on their home court with a 6-2 win at the first line.
Singles: The Owls won five of six first sets in singles and a pair of underclassmen (Sophomore Trinity Grear and freshman Eduardo Morais set the table for senior Karol Paluch to deliver the clinch point in his final home match. Fellow senior Adam Oscislawski followed shortly after and Campbell Salmon completed the afternoon with a win at the second line.
Up Next: The Owls' focus will now turn to the 2022 Conference USA Championship, which gets underway on Friday in Norfolk, Virginia on Friday. The tournament schedule will be released at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
