Turpin Cup and Rescheduled Senior Day Close out Owls Regular Season

In Brief: Rice will wrap up the 2022 regular season this weekend by taking on 27th ranked SMU in Dallas at 11 a.m. on Saturday and celebrating the careers of Adam Oscislawski, Karol Paluch, Sumit Sarkar and AJ Valenty on Monday at 3 p.m. on Senior Day. Saturday's match will be carried on ESPN+
Schedule Update: Sunday's Senior Day match against Incarnate Word has been canceled, but the Owls were able to arrange a match with Concordia on Monday at 3 p.m .as a replacement match to honor the 2022 senior class.
The Owls: Rice is 11-11 coming off a hard-fought 4-2 road win at UTSA last Saturday.
SMU: The Mustangs are 16-6 on the season and have won five straight matches. They lead the all-time series with Rice since 1985, 24-22, and have won four of the last five duals. This will be the fourth meeting at SMU's SMU's Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex since it opened in 2015. SMU has won two of the three, with the Owls winning 6-1 in the most recent meeting in Dallas in 2019.
The Turpin Cup: Created in 2020, the Turpin Cup honors the memory of Jack Turpin. Turpin earned All-America honors and won a Southwest Conference doubles title in 1950 for Rice. His oldest son, Scott, followed his father to play tennis at Rice where he served as a co-captain as a senior while his younger two sons, Mark and Jeff, earned All-American honors playing for SMU.
