Spring Practice Opens on March 8

Spring Game set for April 16
Dunlevie Family Head Football Coach Mike Bloomgren will open his fifth set of spring drills at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 8 as the Owls host the first of 15 practices that conclude with the annual Blue-Gray Spring Game on Saturday, April 16.
Admission to the Blue-Gray game is free and fans can redeem their complimentary tickets online in advance of the game.
The Owls will hold a total of three practices prior to Rice's Spring Break (March 12-20), and then return to the practice field again on March 21. They will practice each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with the exception of a scrimmage on Saturday, March 26.
All practices are open to the media after contacting the Rice Athletics Communications Office. High school coaches, prospective recruits, Rice football lettermen, and family members of current players are also invited to attend practices but asked to contact Rice Director of Player Development Jon Williams (Jbw6@rice.edu) in advance. Members of the Owl Club should contact Mike Melendez (mike.melendez@rice.edu ). Selected practices will be designated as open to the general public at a later date.
Bloomgren and the Owls will open their 2022 season on the road on September 3 when they travel to Los Angeles to face USC. They return home the following week for a pair of home games with McNeese State (September (9) and Louisiana (September 16) before wrapping the non-conference slate with a trip across town to face Houston in the 41st Bayou Bucket Classic. This is the fourth consecutive year the Owls will play their complete non-conference schedule to open the season, followed by their eight-game conference slate is slated to open October 1 on the road against North Texas.
With the start of spring drills and the anticipation of the new season, Rice has launched the "For The Owls" campaign which features several integral components to say "thank you" to the Owls' loyal fan base. Fans can expect to see an investment in the overall fan experience, including upgrades to the game-day atmosphere and other stadium enhancements which will be finalized in the coming weeks.
Best of all, season ticket members who renew their seats in 2022 will be greeted by prices locked-in at 2021 rates. Season ticket members will soon receive an email with further information on the renewal process. Those interested in new season tickets should fill out the season ticket request form.
