In Brief: Rice opens its 2022 Conference USA schedule on Friday when they host No. 41 Charlotte in a 10 a.m. match at the George R. Brown Tennis Center and returns the next day to host UTA at noon on Saturday.

The Owls: Rice is 8-6 after downing Texas A&M Corpus Christi at GRBTC on Sunday.
George R. Brown Tennis Center: Rice is 71-29 in dual action since moving into their current home in the fall of 2014. They are 9-6 in C-USA play and 6-11 all-time against ranked opponents.
Charlotte: Comes into the weekend with a 7-4 record and a No. 41 ranking in the ITA computer rankings. The 49ers have won four straight since a loss at No. 2 Tennessee on February 12. The Owls have won all four previous meetings with Charlotte, the last two at the Conference USA Championship. This will be the first meeting between the teams in Houston. The schools first met in 1998 in Charlotte with Rice winning 6-1.
UTA: Is 8-6 heading into a home dual on Thursday with Boston College. This will be the 20th meeting in the series with Rice having won the first 19. Rice took a 5-2 decision last year at GRBTC.
