
Schuman Repeats as C-USA Football All-Academic Honoree

Defensive end Trey Schuman is one of 11 student-athletes who have been named to the 2022 C-USA Football All-Academic team in a vote of the 11 schools' academic advisors.
Schuman was one of for repeat honorees for their continued excellence on the field and in the classroom. He was named to the CSC Academic All-District team for the third consecutive year, just the four Owl to be honored three times.
After graduating with a degree in Economics and Managerial Studies and posting a 3.78 GPA, he has maintained a 3.91 GPA the past two seasons while pursuing his MBA from the Jones School at Rice.
He is a two-time team captain for the Owls and was a three-year starter coming into the 2022 season. Despite battling injuries that kept him out of a starting role, he played in all 12 games in the regular season and posted a career-high four sacks. He is tied for the team lead with six quarterback hits and second on the team with 22 total pressures on 132 pass rushes.
