HOUSTON — New season tickets for the second season of the Jose Cruz Jr. era of Rice baseball are now on sale.
The 2023 Owls will open their 30-game home schedule on February 17 with the first of three games against NCAA Regional participant Louisiana Ragin Cajuns. The non-conference slate includes a weekend series with crosstown foe Houston Christian in addition to weeknight games with regional rivals Sam Houston, UTRGV, Texas A&M, Lamar, McNeese, Houston, Incarnate Word and Prairie View A&M.
Rice begins its final season of Conference USA play on March 24 when the UTSA Roadrunners come to Reckling Park. The Owls will also host weekend series with Louisiana Tech, Charlotte and Dallas Baptist, before closing out the home schedule with a three-game series with FIU.
For the start of the 2023 season, Reckling Park will have a new, state-of-the-art synthetic turf playing surface that will feature natural ball bounce, reduced infill splash, and a ball pace that closely simulates a natural grass playing surface.
Game times for the 2023 season will be released on a future date.
