The Owls shot 53 percent from the field while limiting Texas College to just a 20 percent clip and outscored the Steers to 19 points in the first three quarters. Rice did most of their damage close to the basket with a 44-8 edge in points in the paint and a 23-6 advantage in second chance opportunities.
Postgame Reaction - Head Coach Lindsay Edmonds
"I'm excited about where this team can get. We weren't there today, but that's what practice (and) openers are for. Hopefully, we got some of our kinks out. We got the freshmen some opportunities to play on the court and get some experience. (Overall), I thought there were a lot of positives. There are definitely some things we've got to clean up until we face tougher opponents coming up on our non-conference schedule."
