In Brief: The Rice men's tennis team (7-8) will combine with the Rice women's team to host a combined dual with UTA at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the George R. Brown Tennis Center

Fans in the Stands: Home matches at the GRBTC are once again open to the public with the following guidelines.

UTA: UTA: The Mavericks are 6-5 on the season and have won their last five matches. This is the eighth consecutive year the schools have met in a dual, all in Houston. The Owls have won all 17 matches between the two, posting 9-0 mark at Jake Hess, a 4-0 record at GRBTC and 1-0 record at the MET.

Notable:

Rice is 10-5 so far this year in the doubles point (7-3 when winning the point).
Mohamed Abldel-Aziz has won his last seven of his last nine matches and Adam Oscislawski has won five of his last six.
Clinch points: Jacob Eskeland and Adam Oscislawski (2), Wes Barnett, Trinity Grear, Sumit Sarkar (1).

George R. Brown Tennis Center:  Rice is 62-24 in dual action since moving into their current home in the fall of 2014.   They are 6-9 all-time against ranked opponents.

The Schedule Ahead:  Thursday's match is the ninth in a stretch of 13 consecutive home duals on the current schedule. The upcoming home slate includes meetings with #23 Tulane, and #48 SMU.

Next Up: The Owls will host C-USA rival UTSA, a 5-2 winner over the Owls in a match in San Antonio in January, at noon on April 3.
