Houston: The Rice men's tennis team returned to action in two week by racing past UTRGV 4-0 in the first half of a doubleheader. The match was the first of the season for the men's team with fans in attendance.
Doubles: Conrad Russell and Sumit Sarkar set the tone for the match, racing to a 6-0 win at the first line. Jacob Eskeland and AJ Valenty followed up with a 6-3 win at the second line to improve the Owls doubles mark to 6-2 on the season.
Singles: Mohamed Abdel-Aziz extended is winning streak in singles to three matches with a straight set win at the second line. Karol Paluch picked up his first dual win of the spring at the sixth line to add a second point and Sarkar closed it out in straight sets at the first line. .
Up Next: The Owls return to the courts at 3 p.m. Saturday to host Louisiana.
