Schuman Earns C-USA All-Academic Honors

11-man team announced on Thursday
Rice defensive end Trey Schuman is one of 11 student-athletes named to the 2021 Conference USA All-Academic team in a vote of conference members' academic advisors.
A semifinalist for the Campbell Trophy, Schuman was also named to the CoSIDA 2021 Academic All-District® team. He has been dominant for the Owls both on the field as a three-year starter and in the classroom where he has completed his undergraduate studies and is currently pursuing his MBA at Rice.
He completed the 2021 campaign with career-highs in tackles (40), tackles for loss (5), and sacks (3) while playing in eight of 12 games. Schuman is the second Rice football player to be a four-time recipient of the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal and received his undergraduate degree in Economics while posting a 3.78 GPA.
