Trevor Putzig Joins Baseball Coaching Staff

Former Pro Player Starred For Coach Bragga At Tennessee Tech
Putzig was star at Tennessee Tech who closed out his collegiate career ranked among the program's career leaders for hits, home runs, doubles, RBI and runs scored. In addition to being named the Tennessee Tech Male Athlete of the Year as a senior in 2018, he was a two-time Academic All-America who maintained a 3.75 grade point average on the way to graduating with a degree in finance. A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Putzig helped lead Tennessee Tech to a NCAA Super Regional appearance in 2018 and he was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles that same season.
Putzig joins fellow Rice assistant coaches Cory Barton and Paul Janish on Coach Bragga's staff. The newest Owl has enthusiasm to rejoin his mentor and the task ahead."I am honored to be able to start my coaching career alongside my former head coach at such a highly accredited University," Putzig said. "Something I promise to myself and any player I encounter along this journey is that I will never have a shortage of energy, effort, and creativity."
