Face Texas on Sunday
Houston: The Rice men's tennis team picked up where they left off when their match with Prairie View A&M was suspended by rain one day early, posting a 7-0 win over the Panthers at the George R. Brown Tennis Center on Monday.
Doubles: When the match began on Sunday afternoon, the teams elected to begin with singles and forego doubles if not needed. When the match resumed on Monday, it was decided to add doubles after the conclusion of singles and the Owls added their final point by taking wins at all three lines.
Singles: Rice raced to early leads on all six courts on Sunday and maintained that momentum after the restart on Monday, winning in straight sets on all six courts. Adam Oscislawski and AJ Valenty picked up their first wins of the year while playing at the fifth and sixth lines.
Up Next: The Owls (4-6) will travel to Austin next Sunday to take on defending national champion Texas at 3:30. They return to GRBTC on March 11 when they host 12th ranked TCU at noon.
