Schools will work with C-USA on possible rescheduling
Saturday's home football game between Rice and UTSA has been postponed due to COVID-19 related issues within the Roadrunner program.
This year's meeting at Rice Stadium was to have been the ninth consecutive between the schools since the inaugural contest in 2012. The schools will work with Conference USA to attempt to reschedule the game.
"After a great win last week at Southern Miss, I know our team was excited to get back on the field at home and renew the series with UTSA," Rice Director of Athletics Joe Karlgaard said. "But the virus remains a constant challenge to our efforts to play this season. I know Coach (Mike) Bloomgren and his staff will regroup our team and turn their attentions to Louisiana Tech."
The Owls are scheduled to hit the road the next two weeks with games at LA Tech on November 14 and North Texas on November 21. They return home to host UTEP on November 28.
