Haet drops consolation match at Masters
The Lede: Mother Nature proved to be the dominant performer on the first day of the Rice Invitational at the George R. Brown Tennis Center while junior Michaela Haet dropped her consolation match at the Oracle ITA Masters in Malibu, California
The Details: The opening slate of doubles was twice delayed on Friday morning due to several stints of rain. Doubles was later moved to begin play on Saturday and the first singles matches in Flights 1, 2 and 3 and the first half of Flight 4 began early in the afternoon. However those matches were suspended due to the return of rain and play was eventually suspended for the day.

Play in the Rice Invitational is scheduled to resume at 8:30 a.m. at GRBTC with the resumption of the first round of singles, followed by the second round of singles and then the first two rounds of doubles.
