Combines with Sakar to split two mixed doubles matches
The Lede: Michaela Haet dropped her opening singles match and split a pair of mixed doubles matches at the Oracle ITA Masters in Malibu, California on Thursday.
The Details: Haet and Sumit Sarkar opened play on Thursday morning by rallying from being down 4-2 and 40-0 to pick up a 6-4 win over Jannick Opitz of Western Michigan and Brindtha Ramasamy of Miami (Ohio). She dropped a 6-3, 6-2 decision to 10th seeded Valeriya Zeleva of UCF. The duo returned to the court late on Thursday to drop a 7-5 decision to Texas A&M's ' Carlos Aguilar and Georgia's Katarina Jokic who are seeded fourth.
Next Up: Haet will face Sam Houston State's Sahaja Yamalapalli at 4 p.m. on Friday in a consolation singles match.
