Rice and Arkansas will rekindle their Southwest Conference football rivalry when the schools meet in Fayetteville, Arkansas on September 4, 2021, the schools announced on Friday.

Arkansas holds a 35-29-3 overall advantage in the series, winning the most recent game 20-0 in Little Rock on November 23, 1991. Rice's last win in the series came one year earlier, 19-11 in Little Rock on November 3, 1990. The last time the schools met in Fayetteville was in 1986, with Arkansas winning 45-14.
