BIRMINGHAM, AL - Rice junior jumper Michelle Fokam made her NCAA Indoor Championships debut on Friday, placing 15th overall in the long jump at the Birmingham CrossPlex. Fokam, from Katy, Texas, jumped 5.78m and 5.80m before fouling on her final attempt, garnering USTFCCCA Second Team All-America honors.
Fokam, who won gold in the long jump and silver in the triple jump at the C-USA Indoor Championships, will be competing again on Saturday when she partakes in the triple jump. That event begins at 3:30 p.m. (CT) and live coverage will be available on ESPN3 starting at 4 p.m.
