NEW ORLEANS - The Rice University men's cross country team earned the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team honors, the association announced on Thursday (2/14) afternoon.
As a team, the men achieved a 3.35 cumulative GPA under head coach Jon Warren. Teams must meet a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) to be recognized.
Rice senior Clay Musial (3.44 GPA) received individual accolades after meeting the 3.25 GPA requirement as well as being a Top-25 finisher at an NCAA Cross Country regional meet. Musial led the Owls to a fourth place finish at the NCAA South Central Regional by placing 21st overall to earn All-Region honors. The Elgin, Ill. native is majoring in Environmental Science and English.
