Pro Football Focus rankings
Pro Football Focus (PFF) has included Rice defensive lineman De'Braylon Carroll in its annual ranking of the top freshmen college football players, placing the Duncanville product on the third team of PFF's 2019 All-Freshman Team of the Year.
Carroll saw action in all 12 games for the Owls this past season as Myles Adams' backup at defensive tackle. He made a memorable collegiate debut, collecting a season-best four tackles in the opening game at Army and finished the season with 14 tackles, including 2.5 for loss. He picked up his first career sack vs. LA Tech when he dropped Bulldog quarterback J'Mar Smith for a loss of 14 yards.
PFF compiles play-by-play grades of every player on every play of every game and their All-Freshman Team takes into account every player's actions on the field on Saturdays while also utilizing additional proprietary statistics to determine the list.
