The Lede: Anastasia Smirnova won twice on Saturday move within one win of joining her twin sister in the qualifying singles round of the 2019 Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships at the Case Tennis Center at LaFortune Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The Details: Smirnova opened play with a straight set win over Jennifer Kerr of Columbia and then outlasted Anna Vrebenska of Ole Miss in three sets to move on to Sunday's action. Priya Niezgoda of Rice dropped her opener to Zoe Howard of Princeton and will move to the consolation round on Sunday. Victoria Smirnova opens play in the qualifying singles round on Monday and Niezgoda and Anastasia Smirnova will open play on the qualifying doubles round on Monday as well. Michaela Haet has earned a spot in the singles main draw, which begins on Wednesday.
