Owls To Host Rhode Island In Home-Opener On Feb. 15
HOUSTON — New Rice head baseball coach Matt Bragga welcomed 24 returning lettermen and 12 newcomers back to Reckling Park Friday (Jan. 25) for the first day of practice for the 2019 season.
The Owls return six offensive starters in the batting order and more than a dozen veteran pitchers from 2018. Nine of the 12 newcomers on the team are freshmen from the high school ranks and three new players are joining Rice as transfers. After a brief period of conditioning, Bragga directed a team scrimmage. Check out coach Bragga's assessment of the first day of practice at the above video.
