Musial Earns C-USA Athlete of the Week

Senior placed fourth overall at Rice Invitational
IRVING, Texas – Rice senior cross country runner Clay Musial was named the Conference USA Male Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, the league office announced.
Musial, from Elgin, Ill., led all Owls runners with a fourth place finish at last Friday's season-opening Norry Hersey Invitational with a time of 20:27 in the four mile race. The Owls would go on to win the meet title, defeating the likes of Houston and Texas.
The C-USA weekly award is the first for Musial in his career, who earned a spot on the 2017 All-C-USA Second Team.
Rice, who is ranked fifth in the latest USTFCCCA South Central Region rankings, will return to action on Sept. 29 when they race at the Greater Louisville Classic.
