
Roper Awarded NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

HOUSTON - Rice track and field/cross country senior standout Cali Roper was awarded a $7,500 scholarship by the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Committee, which can be used towards any part-time or full-time study at a university or professional school.
Roper, from Willis, Texas, placed fifth at the Conference USA Cross Country Championships to help lead the Owls to a second straight team title. She followed that up with a 10th place run at the NCAA South Central Regional. Roper earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors following the cross country season.
During this year's track and field indoor season, Roper earned first-team all-conference honors in the 5000m with a second place finish and was sixth in the 3000m.
Roper currently holds a 3.75 GPA while majoring in Sports Management.
