Green Named to C-USA Football All-Academic Team

Rice linebacker DJ Green has been named to the 2017 InTouch Credit Union C-USA Football All-Academic team in a vote of the conference's athletic communications directors The 13-member squad is comprised of student-athletes who earned a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher, and serves as a starter or key reserve for their school.
Green stepped into a starting role as a graduate student in 2017, finishing fourth on the team with 48 tackles while starting nine times during the season. He set a career-high in tackles with eight stops against Army and then matched that total later in the season at UTSA.
He was the first Owl football player to earn four consecutive C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medals, graduating Magna cum laude with a 3.94 GPA while majoring in Sport Management. He was a three-time member of the President's Honor Roll and served as a Football Peer Academic Advisor for three years. He has a 4.0 GPA in Rice's Masters of Accounting program.
He was one of four Owls to be named to the 2017 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Football Team and is a finalist for Academic All-American honors.
