
Cross Country Teams Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS - The Rice University men's and women's cross country teams earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the association announced Friday afternoon.
The men recorded a 3.279 cumulative GPA while the women registered a 3.669 GPA. To qualify for the honor, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
In addition, sophomore Elsa Racasan and junior Cali Roper earned USTFCCCA individual academic honors. To qualify, honorees must have compiled GPA of 3.25 or greater and must have finished as an All-American or among the 15 finishers (or 10 percent) in their respective regional meet. In total, 160 women and 90 men in NCAA Division I earned the honor.
Racasan finished 25th at the NCAA South Central Regional following a 10th place performance at the C-USA Championships. Racasan, who earned her first USTFCCCA All-Academic selection, achieved a 4.07 GPA in Kinesiology while minoring in Pre-Med.
Roper placed third overall at the NCAA South Central Regional following an individual title at the C-USA Championships. Roper posted a 3.75 GPA in Sports Management and was named to the C-USA All-Academic Team for a second straight year. This is Roper's third USTFCCCA All-Academic Team selection.
