Priya Niezgoda and Savannah Durkin won for the third straight day to highlight wins in four of six singles matches against Princeton by the Rice women's tennis team in the final day of action at the LSU Tiger Fall Classic at the LSU Tennis Complex on Sunday.
"There were several gritty, hard-fought matches out there today," Rice head coach Elizabeth Schmidt said. "Our team really showed some tremendous growth this fall and, the exciting part is, we still have even more room for improvement."
Niezgoda won in straight sets while Durkin had to rebound from a first set loss to win in three sets. Each finished the weekend 3-0. Wendy Zhang and Alison Ho each finished play 2-0.
Sunday's action wraps up the fall season for the Owls who will return to action on January 14 when they travel to Dallas to take part in the SMU Quad.
