Fifth seeds Lindsey Hodge and Wendy Zhang breezed to a victory in the opening round of play in the doubles qualifying round of the 2016 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, California on Tuesday.
The Owls raced to an 8-2 win over North Carolina State's Bianca Moldovan and Claudia Wiktorin and will face Texas A&M's Rachel Pierson and Rutuja Bhosale at noon (central) on Wednesday.
Zhang was eliminated from the singles qualifying round after falling to Ayan Broomfield of Clemson, 6-4, 6-1.
