Ip Set for Oracle Masters Play

Rice senior Katherine Ip will join with Old Dominion's Adam Moundir in representing Conference USA in the second annual Oracle ITA Masters opens play in Malibu, California on Thursday.

After a successful debut in 2015, the Masters field was expanded to include representatives from each Division I Conference to participate, with criteria similar to the NCAA Tournament being used. The invites caused the draw size to increase from 16 to 32. A 32-team mixed-doubles event will also take place at the 2016 Oracle ITA Masters, with players from the same conference partnered up wherever possible.

Ip and Moudir will open play on Thursday in the mixed doubles event, taking on Julia O'Loughlin and Diogo Rocha of Denver. Ip will open singles play on Thursday when she faces Kana Daniel of Penn in the opening round of 32.
