HOUSTON, Texas – Rice cross country hosts their 39th Annual Rice Invitational Meet on Friday at the Rice Intramural Fields. The women’s race starts at 6:15 p.m. while the men begin at 6:45 p.m.

The men’s race features four of the top 10 teams in the South Central Region and six of the top 15 team in the region. The men’s field is headlined by Lamar, who is receiving votes in the latest USTFCCCA Top-25 poll and is ranked third in the South Central Region. 

LSU, McNeese State, Nicholls, Northwestern State, Prairie View, Texas A&M International, Texas Southern, Texas State and UT-Brownsville round out the university field. Texas Running Club is also participating as a club team.

The women’s race features four of the top 15 teams in the region. The Owls are ranked 11th in the South Central Region, and are joined by sixth-ranked Lamar, 13th-ranked Stephen F. Austin and 15th-ranked Houston Baptist.

The Owls are ranked seventh in the region, and are joined by other regionally ranked squads, including fifth-ranked Stephen F. Austin, ninth-ranked Houston, 12th-ranked Sam Houston State and 15th-ranked Houston Baptist.

Admission is free, as is parking located in West Lot 4.
