Aquino Closes Out Rice Career at College Home Run Derby

Rice's Michael Aquino was not able to defend his 2013 College Home Run Derby title, but he again had a great time representing the Owls on the national stage Thursday night in Omaha, Neb.
The slugger who completed his collegiate eligibility a few weeks ago, hit three home runs before a nationally-televised ESPN audience. The final result was not what The Woodlands, Texas, had hoped for, but the experience was.
"Even though it didn't end as I would have liked, we still all had a great time out here in front of this electric crowd in Omaha," Aquino said. "I had my moment last year (winning the 2013 College Home Run Derby). Baseball has been so good to me and I will never forget these moments."
